Context & problem.
People share their intent, interests and values, verify who they are with face and voice, and receive a curated match feed. Connections grow through ice-breakers, chat and calls, and a Milestone Journey that reveals more of each person as trust builds. Paul led the design end to end, from problem framing and research to the final dark-mode UI: 147 screens across 10 product areas, on one dark-first design system.
Most dating apps put the whole job of finding a compatible partner on the user. People swipe through photos and short bios, judge quickly, and start conversation after conversation without knowing whether they share values, intentions or expectations. The result is endless browsing, superficial decisions, compatibility guesswork and, eventually, dating fatigue.
People seeking relationships need a more intentional, personalised way to discover compatible partners, because swipe-based apps demand time and attention without giving confidence in compatibility. How might we help them move from profile browsing to informed, meaningful connections?
